Cho Kyuhyun has the money and also reason, he only has to the collect the confidence to actually do it.
During classes, he cannot concentrate at all. He keeps on looking at the windows, hoping time could move faster. That day, right after class, he will have to help his Professor with library work before visiting his parents. And by the end of the day, he will eventually have the time to go to Crux.
Kyuhyun, really wants to go there. Even for a while, even though he’s scared and awkward… he really wants to go where those peaceful paintings are.

Professor Lim mumbles while arranging books based on its title, the library is surprisingly quiet that day after hours. “I supposed you’ve received the payment for your latest article, Kyuhyun-ssi. Use the money wisely, you’ve worked hard for it. Maybe one day, you can write your own book.”
“Thank you, Sir.”
“Ah~ To Kill a Mockingbird, this one is precious… you know who wrote this?”
“Harper Lee?”
Professor smiles. “I knew you would be my favorite student from the moment I laid my eyes on you. You memorize and absorb every word out of any book. You may not realize the function now, but trust me… it will help you later. Words… could overcome pain and sorrow, even at its oddest moment.”
Really? Do words have that kind of power?
Kyuhyun wouldn’t know, especially now- since his head is full of thoughts. He spent two hours helping Professor and now he’s heading to his parents’ home. Earlier that day, his Mother called him to stop by to discuss an important matter. Not sure what, hopefully it won’t take that long because it’s almost 7 and he knows Crux is usually closed before 9.
But… can it be as smooth as he planned to be? His family has wicked way to control his life, almost seems impossible to let go of Kyuhyun that easily.

“Kyuhyun! You came…” His Mother greets him as soon as he walks in. Kyuhyun takes his shoes off, puts his bag on the front couch, before finally enters the family room. Everyone is there. His sick Father, his helpless Mother, his materialistic sister and his naughty twin little brothers.
While his brothers are chasing each others and joking around, Kyuhyun decides to sit next to his Mother. “Omunim, is there something wrong?”
“Han Eul… is pregnant.”
“What??”
“Yohan overheard her fighting with her boyfriend.” The Mother cries. “He didn’t wanna take responsibility! And she was going to abort it! Kyuhyun-Ah… you have to do something about it, talk to your sister.”
Kyuhyun glances to Shim Han Eul, his younger sister in the separate age of five years gap. “Han Eul-Ah, this is serious. You sure you’re pregnant?”
Han Eul squints. “Of course I’m sure, I’m not an idiot!”
“Then I’ll go to your boyfriend’s house. I’ll ask him and his family nicely…”
“No use, he won’t marry me. That’s why I was gonna do abortion.”
“Don’t abort the baby!”
“Then Oppa, tell me…” The pretty Han Eul suddenly smiles. “If you won’t allow me to kill this damn baby, will you give me more money? Your monthly money only enough for clothes and make-up. I need more. In fact, if you give me some money now, I promise to go to a doctor tomorrow.”
Kyu mumbles softly. “I just sent you three days ago, right now- I don’t have anymore money…”
Han Eul sighs. She did receive the transfer, but she already spent half of it for party and new shoes. Her sick Father and her whiny Mother are useless, so the only way to get easy money is only from his big brother.
When the moment is still awkward for a while, suddenly Yohan shouts loud from the living room. “Hyung is lying! Look, I found his money here!” The 13 years old boy holds an envelope of money he just took from Kyu’s bag on the couch. He shows the money to his twin brother and also the rest of the family. “Hyung is a liar! Liar liar liaaar…” The twin mock their own brother.

“Yah, you! Put it back!” Kyuhyun is about to scold the boy for ransacking his bag, but suddenly his old Father… coughs. “So it’s like that. You choose to keep the money to yourself instead of giving it to your pregnant sister. No matter how important the money is for, I thought you would put us… your family, as priority.”
“Ahbuji, don’t say like that. Of course I care about this family.”
“Then why did you hide the money?!”
“It’s not…”
“We adopted you from that crappy foster house, paid for your school, gave you food- and this is how you repay us?” His Father coughs again. “If you care enough for this family, then act like a good older brother and give the money to your sister so she can go to the doctor uggh uggghh…!!”
Whether Kyu agrees or not, his brothers already take the money and give it to Han Eul anyway. The money, of his left over saving and those he borrowed from Minho. The money… which is supposed to be his reason to enter Crux.
Everything is a mess. Kyuhyun feels so depressed that he keeps his head down all the time. His Mother tries to calm his coughing Father, his brothers giggle and his sister seems so happy counting the amount of the money. The usual family time, and once again… they win.
Tick tock tick tock… finally 8.13. Everyone is moving to the dining room for the late dinner and only Kyuhyun stays in his previous spot. Even if…
“Kyu-Ah, why still here? Let’s have dinner together.” Says his Mother.
“I’m going.”
“What? Where? But the food is rea… Kyuhyun! Kyuhyun-Ah!”
The boy already walks out of the house in hurry, carrying his bag and his left over confidence. Even if he doesn’t have anymore money, anymore reason… he has to go to Crux tonight. Even if.
